The first and only festival of its kind in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, the Charlotte Kids Fest will expand educational and entertainment options for children and their families. Introducing families to the campus of UNC Charlotte, attendees will experience four main interactive areas

It’s getting expensive to live in Charlotte and the city’s most vulnerable residents, including working families, are having a hard time finding safe, affordable housing in the Queen City because rents and home prices continue to increase faster than wages.

The Board of Directors of the Urban League of Central Carolinas (ULCC) has named William "Teddy" McDaniel III as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the ULCC, effective Aug. 1. McDaniel will take the helm of the Charlotte affiliate after serving as the President and CEO of the Austin, TX. affiliate for the past 5 years.

Event partners include Charlotte-based developer Crescent Communities, Levine Museum of the New South, Charlotte Center City Partners, and Sustain Charlotte. Event attendees include representatives from the partner companies, as well as West End residents and stakeholders.

Fulton Meachem Jr. was joined by Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts and Councilwoman Patsy Kinsey for the grand opening of their newest affordable senior living property, The Landing at Park Road. Located at 1147 Marsh Road in Charlotte‘s Sedgefield neighborhood, the new 92-unit community offers affordable, yet stylish apartment homes designed for adults 55 and older.
