University City Partners presents first Charlotte Kids Fest

WHO: Charlotte Kids Fest presented by TIAA, University City Partners and UNC Charlotte.

WHAT: The first and only festival of its kind in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, the Charlotte Kids Fest will expand educational and entertainment options for children and their families. Introducing families to the campus of UNC Charlotte, attendees will experience four main interactive areas: LEARN! Reading, math, history, science, technology; DISCOVER! Performing arts; CREATE! Arts and crafts; and PLAY! Outdoor activities, games, gaming. A main stage will also feature special performances throughout the day including Charlotte School of the Arts, Criss Cross Mangosauce, The Jolly Lollies, Hip Hop Orchestrated and more. Additionally, a variety of vendors
and artisans will be in attendance. The first annual Charlotte Kids Fest is presented by TIAA, University City Partners, UNC
Charlotte, and supporting sponsors Carolina HealthCare System University and Duke Energy. Partners includes Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, YMCA, Arts & Science Council, University City Connect and Chick-fil-A. Proceeds will benefit literacy programming at Charlotte Mecklenburg University City and Sugarcreek Libraries.
