ATLANTA – The 12th Annual Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF 2017), the Southeast’s premiere international film and arts festival, returns with an exciting schedule of screenings, educational forums and networking from Sep. 21 – 24th at the Defoor Centre & Rolling Out Studios. The host hotel for PVIFF is The Ellis Hotel located in Downtown Atlanta. PVIFF seeks to showcase top films, music videos and screenplays to a diverse audience after being selected by an acclaimed jury.

“We are excited about the films and screenplays submitted to PVIFF this year. The quality of films these filmmakers submit continue to get better and we are excited to have avenues to assist these filmmakers and writers with opportunities to get their projects developed and produced, said James “JB” Brown, PVIFF President/Founder.

With the evolution of television, cinema and digital media in 2017 PVIFF seeks to explore talent, educational forums and events that will leave a lasting impression for aspiring artists and interested consumers. PVIFF will feature an exciting new Film Pitch Tent featuring 20th Century Fox Producer, Christopher Broughton, Entertainment Attorney, Sidney Robbins, Representation from investment group A&R Media Fund and more. Artists will have an opportunity to pitch their film and television concepts for an opportunity to get their projects financed and distributed.

The first annual film scoring competition entitled “The Score” will also take place this year. Composers will be replacing and producing new, exciting original scores in a pivotal scene from a film such as “Forest Gump,” “Rocky,” or “The Best Man” for a chance to win a job as a composer in a new film. Acclaimed award winning producer Craig King, who’s known as Quincy Jones’ protégé and the man behind numerous hits from artists such as Will Smith, Aaliyah, Ludacris, Kayne West and more, will lead a jury of judges selecting the winning composer. Legal and branding expert Gia Compton with the GBC Solutions Group will also be joining King along with a host of other industry experts.

“We’re excited to offer these two new exciting programs and events at PVIFF because the industry continues to evolve and it’s pertinent that as a festival we evolve as well. Music composition in film and television has always been an important factor. We hope to assist aspiring composers to find opportunities in mainstream, independent features and television series through competitions such as this, said Len Gibson, PVIFF CEO/Founder.

Festival Highlights
The PVIFF Inspirational Award Brunch will feature cast members from the hit Bounce television series “Saints & Sinners,” Emmy Award winning actor, Blair Underwood (“LA Law,” “Set It Off,” “Rules of Engagement” etc.) and more. Underwood will be receiving the PVIFF “Generational Barrier Breaker” award. This year’s brunch theme is “Faith.” “In the entertainment industry it takes hard work, vision and faith to succeed. Faith has been a constant in most artists’ careers and we want to highlight that aspect of the business because it’s often over looked,” said Gibson. PVIFF will also present the “Rising Star” award to actor Tobias Truvillion (“Hitch,” “Empire,” “Brooklyn’s Finest” etc.).
