Author, Humanitarian Kevin Powell urges local students to
“Stop Waiting on Superman”
Powell will discuss the intersection of education, social justice and leadership
WHO: Kevin Powell, nationally-recognized activist, humanitarian and author of The Education of Kevin Powell: A Boy’s Journey into Manhood. Powell appeared in the fist season of MTV’s The Real World and has become well-known for his books, speaking and passion for social justice.
WHAT: Will have a lively discussion with local middle and high-school students and teachers about leadership, the recent election and social justice. Powell delivered “Stop Waiting for Superman: The Leadership is Us” last night to parents and community members.
