Apparo Announces Four New Appointments to its Board of Directors

Four new members have been elected to the Board of Directors of Apparo, the only local nonprofit that connects corporate volunteers with nonprofits with specific technology needs.

“Apparo’s Board of Directors is one of our organization’s most valuable assets,” said Kim Lanphear, Chief Executive Officer of Apparo. “These new members build upon the Board’s level of experience and passion to empower local nonprofits through technology. They bring a deep commitment to enabling our area nonprofits through skilled IT volunteer opportunities. I couldn’t be more pleased with these new appointments.”

The new directors are Ames Flynn, Executive-Vice President and CIO at Extended Stay America Hotels; Richard Donaldson, Managing Director of Digital Transformation at Duke Energy; Mark Miller, Managing Director at Accenture; Kerri Keller, Senior Manager in the Advisory Services practice of EY. They were elected to three-year terms.

• Ames Flynn is the Executive-Vice President and CIO at Extended Stay America Hotels, where he serves on the CEO staff and has worked since 2013. In this role, he’s responsible for the overall leadership of the information technology and procurement departments. He leads all aspects of IT for ESA, including the organization for delivering strategy, planning, architecture operations/support, security, the solutions portfolio and project management, as well as IT financial management.

• Richard Donaldson is the Managing Director of Digital Transformation at Duke Energy. Through this role, he is responsible for digital strategy, delivery, and architecture across mobile, data, analytics, software engineering and emerging info tech domains. Richard began his career with Duke in 2001 as a programmer in Financial App’s and led Application Infrastructure/Architecture for the Corporate Applications domain until 2010, when he joined Telecom.

• Mark Miller leads Accenture’s Technology Advisory practice for Accenture’s Communications, Media, and Technology clients. In this role, he works with CIO and CTO clients to understand and pivot to “New IT” via technology transformation. Mark has been with Accenture for over 25 years, with roles in technology, process, human performance, program management, outsourcing, and technology strategy.

• Kerri Keller is a Senior Manager in the Advisory Services practice of EY. Kerri has 15 years of experience, specializing in: Information Technology (IT) controls, third-party reporting attestations, information security, business process controls, and governance risk and compliance assessments. His background includes a variety of consulting roles spanning process improvement and strategy. Kerri is a key leader across EY’s health and consumer products sectors, as well as SOC compliance services.
